Solar Impulse, a plane powered only by solar energy, successfully completed its maiden flight over Payerne, Switzerland today.
OMEGA is a Main Partner in the Solar Impulse project, whose long-term goal is to circumnavigate the earth in an aircraft which takes all of its energy from the sun. Our participation is highly proactive: we provide capital and technological support and have contributed a test bench, an instrument that aids in the landing of the aircraft and a lightweight set of high-powered landing lights.
Today's two-hour flight was a major step in the evolution of the Solar Impulse project. See here for more information. |
