"Soaring.org.au" is the public face of gliding in Australia on the web. The information presented herein is of a general form and is specifically written to be non technical in nature. It is hoped this will provide a broad overview of our sport, yielding sufficient information to allow you the reader to determine what its all about. We also trust you can determine if the sport it holds any further interest, whilst giving sufficient information to allow you to make direct contact with the nearest club to them. We encourage you to take the next step and contact your nearest club and experience the sport for real, with an air experience flight.

Members of the national gliding authority (GFA or Gliding Federation of Australia) have a separate web site which is full of interesting details and information and is the main source of membership communication. Some of the information is technical and some is specific to particular aspects of this broad sport. Much of the language assumes the member is familiar with most of the terminology which would be unsuitable to the lay person until they’ve been in the sport actively flying for a little while.
